The Real(ness)

5342909_orig

So as I am sitting, anxiously, trying to finish my 600 word essay ( I know- not that difficult). I began to side track, answering text messages, checking Instagram. . . when I’m scrolling through my group message (with my 3 besties-yes I still use that word) and I see something about Chris Brown + The Real. Now I love The Real and think it’s a good show, despite it’s sometimes bland moments. And I support Chris Brown as an artist, he is very talented. So, I go to Google !! (don’t we all) and I see multiple post about this and decided to read them all. Hello, Procrastinator! Tamar, Adrienne, and Mai had a lot of words to say about Chris Brown and Kaurreche’s relationship. The topic that they were on, Chris’ relationship fit the details. Playing DEVILS ADVOCATE: With that being said I don’t believe it was respectful for them to do that. They are celebrities and celebrities will always get bashed but if KeKe Palmer had a “Gold Diggers” segment on her show and mentioned Vince and Tamars relationship she would throw a lot of shade because she would be offended. Eventhough Tamar would try to shrug it off in her Nice/Nasty way, she would be offended. Saying that, I understand where Chris Brown is coming from and he felt the need to say something back. The way he said it was just a disrespectful as what they said but that is his opinion, his instagram, his career. One thing that I have learned is that publicity is good, good or bad and honestly The Real is a good show but is it really getting as high ratings as expected? Prob not!! So to bash Chris Brown gives them that, it goes with their show and for Chris Brown to lash out about it shows how “bad of a person” he is. So either way The Real wins. On the topic overall, I don’t think Brown is bad for Kaurreche, he has his moments and he did leave her once for Rihanna but I believe overall they are good for each other. He seems happy with her and she seems happy with him, no extraness included. “What would Beyonce do?” No comment!!

THE BORGIAS (Season3)

I was recently captivated by the over complex drama of The Borgias. There is a lot to say about the show, negative and positive. When I began watching I was interested in Cesare, he seemed so mysterious and indecent, in some instances. HAHA. His character development was constantly inclining and that kept me in tune with the show. Cesare’s relationship with his sister was very loving, in the beginning, he cared about his younger sister and it was enticing but as Lucrezia failed more and more in her relationships you could slowly see the siblings relationship turn faster, it was a surprise but I wasn’t totally taken aback when they had sex. I was surprised that she initiated, in a sense, and not Cesare. (haha, weird) So as Cesare goes on protecting his sister and finding his fathers forgiveness he becomes this great man to do great things. The ending for his character left me pleased but I didn’t like his wife, I don’t understand why he had to marry ( and that is not just about my obsessive crush). Cesare Borgia was a free spirit and marriage, although not seen much in the show, took a small part of imagination. Lucrezia was so full of herself that you would almost call her naive but she grew up when she got married and began to use her brain and understand her brother can’t paint the entire world with rainbows. She was this amazingly witty woman that really only cared about herself, her son, and her brother- in that order (the son and Cesare was probably in competes) She understood what to do to keep her entire family whole and no one was going to stop her from doing it. Her character was very empowering. Dear old Juan, made my last nerve wither away. He felt forced into the show (come to think of it, it wouldn’t be the same without him meshing the tithes between different family relationships. . . . ) His character was over acted, he longed and talked about being this mighty man that would do anything to protect what he holds dear but in honesty he was a scared little boy, he was more naive than Lucrezia! When Cesare killed him, I clapped in happiness. He was dragging on, a drunk that needed to be rid of. If he didn’t die I most likely would’ve stopped watching the show. (ugh) Now, the Pope, Vanozza, and Giulia were spectacular when needed. Vanozza was this strong willed woman who didn’t need a man to complete her, she was beautiful. Even though the Pope “left” her she stomped her feet for a short while and said “fcuk it”! haha. At first I thought I was going to dislike Guila but later as her and Vanozza developed that very small relationship I decided not to hate her but not to like her either way. And the Pope and all his deceit. This man drove his kids to all that they were. He didn’t care about anything but his security as Pope. But he did love his family, blindly, and that was shown throughout the seasons. And lastly MICHAELETTO ( he deserves capitols) man oh man! Him being Cesare’s right hand kept Cesare on top, it kept him witty and dependable because he knew he would always have Michaeletto to catch him if he ever failed. That relationship was strong which helped Cesare build it all. When Michaeletto killed Pascal I was so torn for him. LOL. “no I wasn’t ready!!” He loved him and Michaeletto was such a loyal person that for him to be deceived was unbearable a literally broken heart. When he came and gave Cesare hope in defeating that Sforza lady (spits) I was in awe. haha. The ending was a happy one, as happy as it could be. Even though it was canceled it left you wondering about how Lucrezia and Cesare would display their relations, how the Pope was going to ensure this monarchy, if the youngest brother was doing well. Everything was up in the air but then it wasn’t because their Borgias, so it’ll all work out.

Peace, Love, and Tranquilizers.

College or Experience??

fashion cap

Being in the fashion industry has its ups and downs (if you can’t handles The Devil Wears Prada, you shouldn’t be in it) Everyday something similar happens, it’s not a fluke and it doesn’t at all slow down. Just as models are in competition of one another, it’s just the same behind the scenes. Women and men are always scratching at the tippy top of the pyramid and when you get there you have to kick everyone else down to stay. It seems surreal but this is experience that I am typing. So about getting to the top. . . . .now a days some people believe that experience trumps text book knowledge. I see how that is relevant, when you are working you want someone who knows what they are doing, who understands it because they’ve done it. But I do believe text book knowledge is just as important. You need those discussions in class, the wisdom that teachers can you, and text book knowledge. It’s an opinion and people will disagree. But my generation is spending so much money on college and working minimum wage jobs because they have no experience. They spend all their time focusing on getting out of college early and forgetting that you now need more than a degree. I recently did an interview and the interviewer told me she has been at the same job for the past three years and she left school because it was too expensive and she was content with where she was. Thats fine and dandy too but understand where you want to go, if you don’t know you will waste your time in this industry. Some people will say you need schooling others will say intern more and you will get entangled doing so much and years will have gone by before you realize you haven’t benefitted at all. In my opinion, go to school and work within your industry or at least intern, having prior experience on your resumé to go along with your degree is a must now.

6′ platforms

Walking,  thinking aimlessly
I look up to see you
Standing, talking. . . .  I remembered your smile
As someone else gets my attention
I grab yours
A moment of sight
I reminisced about it all.
Your eyes told it to me a million times over
I gave my attention elsewhere
. . . . . Before we went past a moment
